Set up Orderlist

Google sign-in and Gmail import

  1. In Google Cloud Console, create a project and enable Gmail API.
  2. Under Google Auth Platform, set up Branding, Audience and Data Access. Choose External if your testers are outside your organization and add the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonly scope.
  3. While your OAuth app is in Testing, add your testers' Google accounts to the test users list.
  4. Create an OAuth client ID for a Web application. Add http://localhost:3000 for local use and your site's full HTTPS origin under Authorized JavaScript origins.
  5. Put the public client ID (ending in .apps.googleusercontent.com) into dist/auth-config.js as googleClientId. Never put an OAuth client secret in a webpage.
  6. Open Continue with Google, choose a Gmail account and grant read-only access.

After sign-in, Orderlist checks all matching order emails within your selected lookback period (30, 60, 90, 180 or 365 days; 180 days by default) and shows draft items for your review. Gmail access is short-lived. On another tab or after expiry, you may have to click Google again. The app does not run background scans or save orders on a server.

Gmail read-only is a restricted OAuth permission. A public launch may require Google verification. This static site uses Google's browser OAuth access token to read Gmail and identify the account. It is not a server-authenticated account system and does not provide cloud storage or protect a future database. Gmail content stays in browser memory; the access token is stored in the current tab's session storage until it expires or you disconnect.

Use it without Google

If the OAuth client is not configured, import downloaded order emails as .eml, .html or .txt files, or paste order text. In Gmail, use a message's three-dot menu and choose “Download message.” Retailer email layouts vary: verify extracted titles and item details. Addresses and payment details are not copied into listing descriptions.

eBay autofill

  1. Download the Chrome/Edge extension and unzip it.
  2. Open chrome://extensions or edge://extensions, enable Developer mode, and choose Load unpacked. Select the folder containing manifest.json.
  3. Copy its extension ID into Orderlist's Setup & connections dialog.
  4. Select an order, edit the listing title and description, and review the item photos from the order email or upload your own photos.
  5. Click Continue on eBay. Choose a product/category if prompted, then use the “Fill available fields” button on the full listing form.
  6. Inspect every field and photo. Set condition, price, shipping and returns on eBay; publish only when ready.

If you installed an earlier extension, remove it and install the updated download to send supported retailer email photos to eBay. eBay's form changes and autofill is best-effort. It does not publish on your behalf. If a field does not fill, copy its draft text and upload the photos manually.

Local and live origins

For another domain, update the extension's allowed origin in background.js and manifest.json, reload the extension, and add that origin to Google's OAuth Web client. The public client ID can be used on multiple authorized origins. This application has no paid AI, database or server dependency; normal eBay selling fees still apply.
